![]() Pat was predeceased by her parents, William and Edna Green McGuire her brothers, Robert McGuire and James McGuire sister in law, Lois McGuire and her nephew, Lawrence McGuire. Pat’s biggest pride and joy was her daughter Stephanie, whom Pat, a single parent, raised fearlessly. Another love was music Pat was always delighted when she had the opportunity to attend performances of the Cincinnati Opera, Symphony and Ballet. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. ![]() Patrick’s Day parade committee, a role that took her into Pubs all over the city asking for donations for the parade. She was an indefatigable fundraiser for the St. She was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Ever proud of the Irish roots of her McGuire family, Pat was able to visit Ireland and fulfill a lifelong dream. Pat also put her swimming skills to use as a volunteer at the Clovernook Home for the Blind, where she took blind women swimming and on picnics. Pat loved the competition as much as she loved the camaraderie of being with other swimmers. She won many medals in the Senior Olympics. Following her retirement from Lazarus in 1987, Pat returned to competitive swimming, and did not stop until she was in her 80s. She worked for 35 years at Shillito’s (later Shillito Rikes and finally Lazarus) as a bridal gift consultant. She graduated from Butler University in 1944. While at Butler University, Pat was introduced to two pursuits she enjoyed for the rest of her life: being a proud member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, and competitive swimming. As a child growing up in Indiana in the 1920s, Pat Poire followed in the footsteps of her mother in attending Campfire Girls camp. Patricia Poire passed away on Septemat the age of 99.
